President Don Ward has been involved in the home building business since 1966 in the Niagara Region expanding into commercial developments in Metropolitan Toronto and Southern Ontario. Charter has managed and constructed numerous design-build projects including new shopping centres, corporate campuses, retail stores, shopping centre renovations, recreational facilities, major restaurants, office complexes and industrial domains where the resulting products have withstood the test of time, with architecture blending seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment.
As a result, Don Ward received three Presidential Awards of Honour from the Housing & Urban Development Association of Canada recognizing his outstanding achievements in the industry.
Don’s dedication to the construction industry has also extended to professional integrity and customer satisfaction, whereby he became President of the Ontario Home Builder’s Association in 1974, as the youngest president of date, and as well, Chaired the Committee to establish the Ontario New Home Warranty Program, which was established in 1976 and subsequently made mandatory by the Ontario Provincial Government shortly thereafter.
